The genus Aurinirmus has very near relations with the genera Saussurites Tendero, 1971 and Auricotes Keler, 1939., from the Columbiformes. Besides other morphological features it may be distinguished from them repsectively by the presence of auriculiform pre-vulvar formations and by the deposoition of the female genital region.</p>
