(Ricinidae) is described and illustrated from a Brazilian furnariid, the Rufous-capped Spinetail Synallaxis ruficapilla (Viellot, 1819). It belongs to the R. invadens group. Some experiences about Ricinus infestation on South American passerines are presented.&lt;/p&gt;
