	Une &amp;eacute;tude a &amp;eacute;t&amp;eacute; men&amp;eacute;e d&amp;rsquo;ao&amp;ucirc;t 2003 &amp;agrave; mars 2004 sur les arthropodes ectoparasites du dindon, &amp;eacute;lev&amp;eacute; selon le mode extensif dans le d&amp;eacute;partement de la Donga (nord-ouest du B&amp;eacute;nin). Sur un &amp;eacute;chantillon de 657 animaux examin&amp;eacute;s, 524 &amp;eacute;taient porteurs de parasites, soit un taux global d&amp;rsquo;infestation de 79,8 p. 100. Treize esp&amp;egrave;ces ont &amp;eacute;t&amp;eacute; identifi&amp;eacute;es : Cnemidocoptes mutans, Epidermoptes bilobatus, Dermanyssus gallinae, Hyalomma rufipes, Amblyomma variegatum, Argas persicus et Haemaphysalis hoodi pour les acariens ; Menopon gallinae, Menacanthus stramineus, Lipeurus caponis, Goniodes meleagridis, Goniocotes gallinae et Echidnophaga gallinacea pour les insectes. Les r&amp;eacute;sultats ont montr&amp;eacute; que la pr&amp;eacute;valence du parasitisme due aux insectes &amp;eacute;tait significativement plus &amp;eacute;lev&amp;eacute;e que celle due aux acariens (p &amp;lt; 0,05). Les acariens fix&amp;eacute;s &amp;agrave; la peau &amp;eacute;taient r&amp;eacute;partis sur tout le corps des oiseaux, tandis que les insectes &amp;eacute;taient observ&amp;eacute;s sur le plumage et le corps. Le taux d&amp;rsquo;infestation a &amp;eacute;t&amp;eacute; plus &amp;eacute;lev&amp;eacute; pendant la p&amp;eacute;riode humide de l&amp;rsquo;&amp;eacute;tude (p &amp;lt; 0,05). La pr&amp;eacute;valence du parasitisme a augment&amp;eacute; significativement avec l&amp;rsquo;&amp;acirc;ge des oiseaux (p &amp;lt; 0,05). Menacanthus stramineus a &amp;eacute;t&amp;eacute; le parasite pr&amp;eacute;sentant la pr&amp;eacute;valence la plus &amp;eacute;lev&amp;eacute;e. Cette situation, li&amp;eacute;e au mode traditionnel de l&amp;rsquo;&amp;eacute;levage pratiqu&amp;eacute; dans cette r&amp;eacute;gion du B&amp;eacute;nin, laisse envisager des mesures de lutte associant les traitements antiparasitaires des oiseaux &amp;agrave; l&amp;rsquo;hygi&amp;egrave;ne de l&amp;rsquo;habitat et de l&amp;rsquo;alimentation.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ectoparasite arthropods of extensively reared turkeys were studied from August 2003 to March 2004 in Donga Department (Northwest Benin). Out of 657 sampled and examined birds, 524 were parasite carriers, i.e. the overall infestation rate was 79.8%. Thirteen species were identified: Cnemidocoptes mutans, Epidermoptes bilobatus, Dermanyssus gallinae, Hyalomma rufipes, Amblyomma variegatum, Argas persicus and Haemaphysalis hoodi as acarids; Menopon gallinae, Menacanthus stramineus, Lipeurus caponis, Goniodes meleagridis, Goniocotes gallinae and Echidnophaga gallinacea as insects. Insect parasitism was significantly higher than acarid parasitism (p &amp;lt; 0.05). Acarids were present on all bird body parts, while insects were found on feathers as well as body. The infestation rate was higher during the humid period of the study (p &amp;lt; 0.05). Parasitism prevalence significantly increased with birds&amp;rsquo; age (p &amp;lt; 0.05). The highest infestation rate was caused by Menacanthus stramineus. This status, due to the traditional way of rearing turkeys in the studied area, suggests a control strategy which should associate treatment of the birds with parasiticide drugs, habitat hygiene and improved feeding.&lt;/p&gt;
