&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Resumen&lt;/strong&gt; La fragmentaci&amp;oacute;n del paisaje para fines agr&amp;iacute;colas es una de las principales causas de p&amp;eacute;rdida de biodiversidad a nivel global. Los depredadores tope como las aves rapaces constituyen un grupo potencialmente&amp;nbsp; sensible&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; p&amp;eacute;rdida&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; fragmentaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; h&amp;aacute;bitat.&amp;nbsp; Estos&amp;nbsp; paisajes&amp;nbsp; agr&amp;iacute;colas pueden presentar una alta complejidad de procesos ecol&amp;oacute;gicos, que incluyen especies que son atra&amp;iacute;das&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; por&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; oferta&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; alimento.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Esta&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; atracci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; puede&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; no&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; significar&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; una&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ventaja,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; al incrementarse la competencia, exponer a los individuos a una mayor ocurrencia de par&amp;aacute;sitos y a altas concentraciones de agrot&amp;oacute;xicos pudiendo afectar su condici&amp;oacute;n f&amp;iacute;sica en el largo plazo. El&amp;nbsp; presente&amp;nbsp; estudio&amp;nbsp; brinda&amp;nbsp; informaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; del&amp;nbsp; Cern&amp;iacute;calo&amp;nbsp; Americano&amp;nbsp; (Falco&amp;nbsp; sparverius)&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp; lo referente&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; cuestiones&amp;nbsp; ecol&amp;oacute;gicas&amp;nbsp; desconocidas&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp; &amp;aacute;rea&amp;nbsp; como&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; dieta&amp;nbsp; reproductiva&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; la utilizaci&amp;oacute;n de h&amp;aacute;bitat a lo largo del a&amp;ntilde;o en el Valle agr&amp;iacute;cola de Santo Domingo, en Baja California Sur.&amp;nbsp; Tambi&amp;eacute;n&amp;nbsp; se&amp;nbsp; analizaron&amp;nbsp; aspectos&amp;nbsp; relacionados&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; salud,&amp;nbsp; como&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; condici&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; f&amp;iacute;sica,&amp;nbsp; la ocurrencia de ectopar&amp;aacute;sitos, hemopar&amp;aacute;sitos y malformaciones eritrocitarias durante la etapa no reproductiva,&amp;nbsp; mediante&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; captura&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; individuos&amp;nbsp; residentes&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; migratorios&amp;nbsp; durante&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp; oto&amp;ntilde;o&amp;nbsp; e invierno&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; las&amp;nbsp; temporadas&amp;nbsp; 2018-2019&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; 2019-2020.&amp;nbsp; Mediante&amp;nbsp; medidas&amp;nbsp; morfom&amp;eacute;tricas&amp;nbsp; se obtuvo&amp;nbsp; un&amp;nbsp; &amp;iacute;ndice&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; condici&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; f&amp;iacute;sica&amp;nbsp; escalado&amp;nbsp; (Ṁ),&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp; cual&amp;nbsp; fue&amp;nbsp; relacionado&amp;nbsp; con&amp;nbsp; caracter&amp;iacute;sticas individuales&amp;nbsp; como&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp; g&amp;eacute;nero&amp;nbsp; e&amp;nbsp; indicadores&amp;nbsp; del&amp;nbsp; tama&amp;ntilde;o&amp;nbsp; corporal&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; caracter&amp;iacute;sticas&amp;nbsp; temporales como el a&amp;ntilde;o y la temporada (oto&amp;ntilde;o e invierno). Entre las caracter&amp;iacute;sticas geogr&amp;aacute;ficas se utilizaron el &amp;aacute;rea de vegetaci&amp;oacute;n nativa en los alrededores de captura (1 km radio) y el &amp;Iacute;ndice de Diferencia de&amp;nbsp; Vegetaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; Normalizado.&amp;nbsp; Tambi&amp;eacute;n&amp;nbsp; se&amp;nbsp; identificaron&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; calcularon&amp;nbsp; las&amp;nbsp; prevalencias&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; cargas&amp;nbsp; de ectopar&amp;aacute;sitos en los individuos capturados, evaluando su ocurrencia mediante un GLM binomial en&amp;nbsp; relaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; las&amp;nbsp; caracter&amp;iacute;sticas&amp;nbsp; individuales&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; temporales.&amp;nbsp; Se&amp;nbsp; evalu&amp;oacute;&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; disposici&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; espacial&amp;nbsp; de los&amp;nbsp; individuos&amp;nbsp; infectados&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp; relaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; cobertura&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; vegetaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; nativa en&amp;nbsp; los&amp;nbsp; alrededores de captura.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Mediante&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; an&amp;aacute;lisis&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; frotis&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; sangu&amp;iacute;neos&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; se&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; evalu&amp;oacute;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; prevalencia&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; carga&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; de hemopar&amp;aacute;sitos&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; mediante&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; una&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; selecci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; modelos&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; GLM&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; binomial&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; binomial-negativo respectivamente,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; teniendo&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; cuenta&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; variables&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; individuales,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; temporales,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; adem&amp;aacute;s&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; las geogr&amp;aacute;ficas. Mediante la misma metodolog&amp;iacute;a se analiz&amp;oacute; la ocurrencia y carga de malformaciones en eritrocitos, clasificadas como micron&amp;uacute;cleos y otras anomal&amp;iacute;as, indicadores de la exposici&amp;oacute;n a pesticidas.&amp;nbsp; Los&amp;nbsp; resultados&amp;nbsp; evidencian&amp;nbsp; una&amp;nbsp; fuerte&amp;nbsp; dependencia&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; sub-especie&amp;nbsp; local&amp;nbsp; por&amp;nbsp; los parches&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; vegetaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; nativa&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; lo&amp;nbsp; largo&amp;nbsp; del&amp;nbsp; a&amp;ntilde;o,&amp;nbsp; donde&amp;nbsp; podr&amp;iacute;a&amp;nbsp; capturar&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; su&amp;nbsp; presa&amp;nbsp; principal durante&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; reproducci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp; Lagarto&amp;nbsp; Escamoso&amp;nbsp; (Sceloporus&amp;nbsp; zosteromus).&amp;nbsp; La&amp;nbsp; disposici&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; espacial durante&amp;nbsp; el&amp;nbsp; oto&amp;ntilde;o-invierno&amp;nbsp; evidenci&amp;oacute;&amp;nbsp; una&amp;nbsp; utilizaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; diferencial&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; h&amp;aacute;bitat&amp;nbsp; entre&amp;nbsp; individuos&amp;nbsp; de mayor&amp;nbsp; porte&amp;nbsp; (hembras&amp;nbsp; migratorias)&amp;nbsp; ocupando&amp;nbsp; &amp;aacute;reas&amp;nbsp; mayormente&amp;nbsp; agr&amp;iacute;colas,&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; los&amp;nbsp; individuos&amp;nbsp; de menor porte&amp;nbsp; (residentes)&amp;nbsp; una&amp;nbsp; utilizaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; los&amp;nbsp; parches&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; vegetaci&amp;oacute;n&amp;nbsp; nativa&amp;nbsp; y&amp;nbsp; alrededores.&amp;nbsp; Se registran&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; por&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; primera&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; vez&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; diferentes&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; tipos&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ectopar&amp;aacute;sitos&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; especie&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; para&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; M&amp;eacute;xico, evidenciando&amp;nbsp; especies&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; importancia&amp;nbsp; sanitaria&amp;nbsp; como Icosta&amp;nbsp; americana&amp;nbsp; exclusivamente&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp; la zona&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; agr&amp;iacute;cola,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; al&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; igual&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; que&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; los&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; hemopar&amp;aacute;sitos Haemoproteus&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; sp.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; y Plasmodium&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; sp.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; que evidenciaron&amp;nbsp; una&amp;nbsp; fuerte&amp;nbsp; dependencia&amp;nbsp; geo-espacial&amp;nbsp; increment&amp;aacute;ndose&amp;nbsp; en&amp;nbsp; la&amp;nbsp; misma&amp;nbsp; zona.&amp;nbsp; Las numerosas anomal&amp;iacute;as en eritrocitos sugieren una alta genotoxicidad relacionada a los pesticidas a la zona agr&amp;iacute;cola, y se recomienda a la especie como un potencial biomonitor de genotoxicidad.&lt;/p&gt;

Top predators as raptors belong to a potential tender group to habitat losses&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; fragmentation.&amp;nbsp; These&amp;nbsp; agriculture&amp;nbsp; landscapes&amp;nbsp; could&amp;nbsp; present&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; high&amp;nbsp; complexity&amp;nbsp; of ecological&amp;nbsp; processes,&amp;nbsp; which&amp;nbsp; includes&amp;nbsp; species&amp;nbsp; that&amp;nbsp; could&amp;nbsp; be&amp;nbsp; attracted&amp;nbsp; by&amp;nbsp; food&amp;nbsp; offer.&amp;nbsp; This attraction&amp;nbsp; could&amp;nbsp; not&amp;nbsp; result&amp;nbsp; advantageous,&amp;nbsp; because&amp;nbsp; could&amp;nbsp; increase&amp;nbsp; competition,&amp;nbsp; exposing&amp;nbsp; to&amp;nbsp; an increase&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; parasites&amp;nbsp; occurrence,&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; to&amp;nbsp; high&amp;nbsp; concentrations&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; agro-chemicals&amp;nbsp; affecting&amp;nbsp; their body condition in the long therm.&amp;nbsp; The&amp;nbsp; current&amp;nbsp; study&amp;nbsp; brings&amp;nbsp; information&amp;nbsp; about&amp;nbsp; unknown&amp;nbsp; ecology&amp;nbsp; topics&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; American&amp;nbsp; Kestrel (Falco sparverius) in the area as reproductive diet and use of habitat throughout the year in the Santo&amp;nbsp; Domingo&amp;nbsp; agriculture&amp;nbsp; valley,&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; Baja&amp;nbsp; California&amp;nbsp; Sur,&amp;nbsp; Mexico.&amp;nbsp; Also,&amp;nbsp; we&amp;nbsp; analyzed&amp;nbsp; related health&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; matters&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; as&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; body&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; condition,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; ectoparasites&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; hemoparasites&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; occurrence,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and erythrocytes&amp;nbsp; anomalies&amp;nbsp; during&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; non-breeding&amp;nbsp; stage,&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; individuals&amp;nbsp; (residents&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; migrators) captured in autumn and winter during 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. We obtained the scaled body condition&amp;nbsp; index&amp;nbsp; (Ṁ),&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; related&amp;nbsp; with&amp;nbsp; individual characteristics&amp;nbsp; as&amp;nbsp; genre and a&amp;nbsp; body&amp;nbsp; size&amp;nbsp; index, and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; temporal&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; patterns&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; as&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; year&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; season&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; (autumn&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; winter).&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Among&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; geographical descriptors we used the native vegetation coverture in the close surroundings of capture (1 km radius)&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; Normalized&amp;nbsp; Difference&amp;nbsp; Vegetation&amp;nbsp; Index.&amp;nbsp; Also&amp;nbsp; we&amp;nbsp; identified&amp;nbsp; ectoparasites&amp;nbsp; and quantified&amp;nbsp; prevalence&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; burden&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; individuals,&amp;nbsp; evaluating&amp;nbsp; their&amp;nbsp; occurrence&amp;nbsp; using&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; binomial GLM&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; relation&amp;nbsp; to&amp;nbsp; individuals&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; temporal&amp;nbsp; patterns.&amp;nbsp; We&amp;nbsp; evaluated&amp;nbsp; de&amp;nbsp; spatial&amp;nbsp; disposition&amp;nbsp; of infected individuals related to native vegetation coverture near the capture points. Besides, we looked&amp;nbsp; for&amp;nbsp; hemoparasites&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; blood&amp;nbsp; smears and&amp;nbsp; analyzed&amp;nbsp; prevalence&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; burden&amp;nbsp; with&amp;nbsp; binomial and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; negative-binomial&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; GLM&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; respectively,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; using&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; individual,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; seasonal&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; geographical characteristics&amp;nbsp; as&amp;nbsp; predictor&amp;nbsp; variables.&amp;nbsp; Using&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; same&amp;nbsp; methodology&amp;nbsp; we&amp;nbsp; looked&amp;nbsp; for&amp;nbsp; erythrocytes anomalies,&amp;nbsp; classified&amp;nbsp; as&amp;nbsp; micronucleus&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; other&amp;nbsp; anomalies,&amp;nbsp; indicators&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; pesticides&amp;nbsp; exposition. Results evidenced a strong dependence of the native vegetation patches by resident individuals throughout the year, place where they could capture the main prey the Spiny Lizard (Sceloporus zosteromus)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; during&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; breeding.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; spatial&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; disposition&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; kestrels&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; during&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; autumn-winter evidenced&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; differential&amp;nbsp; utilization&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; habitat&amp;nbsp; between&amp;nbsp; larger&amp;nbsp; individuals&amp;nbsp; (migratory&amp;nbsp; females) occupying&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; agriculture&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; areas,&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; smaller&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; individuals&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; (residents)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; occupying&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; mostly&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; native vegetation&amp;nbsp; patches&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; close&amp;nbsp; surroundings.&amp;nbsp; We&amp;nbsp; registered&amp;nbsp; for&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; first&amp;nbsp; time&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; species inhabiting&amp;nbsp; Mexico&amp;nbsp; several&amp;nbsp; kind&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; ectoparasites,&amp;nbsp; evidencing&amp;nbsp; species&amp;nbsp; of&amp;nbsp; sanitary&amp;nbsp; importance&amp;nbsp; as Icosta&amp;nbsp; americana&amp;nbsp; exclusively&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; agriculture&amp;nbsp; area,&amp;nbsp; as&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; hemoparasites Haemoproteus&amp;nbsp; sp. and Plasmodium&amp;nbsp; sp.&amp;nbsp; which&amp;nbsp; showed&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; strong&amp;nbsp; geo-spatial&amp;nbsp; dependency&amp;nbsp; increasing&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; the&amp;nbsp; same area.&amp;nbsp; Numerous&amp;nbsp; anomalies&amp;nbsp; in&amp;nbsp; erythrocytes&amp;nbsp; suggest&amp;nbsp; a&amp;nbsp; high&amp;nbsp; genotoxicity&amp;nbsp; related&amp;nbsp; to&amp;nbsp; pesticides&amp;nbsp; of the agriculture area, and we recommend the species as a potential genotoxicity biomonitor.&lt;/p&gt;
