Published Taxon Remarks:
Records of this louse from the leporids Lepus townsendii Bachman and Sylvilagus audubonii (Baird) in North America, and from Lepus saxatilis F. Cuvier in South Africa are almost certainly in error or reflect accidental host-parasite associations (Beaucoumu, 1968; Kim et al., 1986). [ex. Durden, L. A., Musser, G. G. 1994. Bulletin of the American Museum of Natural History 218: 1-90]. Female lectotype from Oryctolagus (Lepus) cuniculus in England, in the Denny Collection (52.98), British Museum (Natural History), London. [ex. Kim, K. C., Pratt, H. D., Stojanovich, C. J. 1986. The Sucking Lice of North America, p. 241: Pennsylvania State University]
