| Abstract: | English title: Contribution to the knowledge of Hoplopleura reducta Ferris, 1921 (Phthiraptera, Anoplura, Hoplopleuridae). Summary: The adult male of H. reducta is described and figured from specimens in the collection of the Museo de la Plata, Argentina. Eggs of H. reducta were taken off the rodent Eligmodontia typus from Chubut province, Argentina, and examined by scanning electron microscopy. It is suggested that E. typus, and not Phyllotis micropus [Auliscomys micropus], is the primary host of H. reducta |
