Abstract: Thirty-six chilean pigeons (Columba araucana) that had been killed by poisoning in the district of Pinto, Ñuble province, Chile, were analyzed for the presence of external and gastrointestinal parasites. After analyzing the digestive tract of each bird, there were no gastrointestinal parasites or injuries attributed to them. After conducting a thorough search of the feathers three ectoparasites species were isolated, two chewing lice (Insecta, Phthiraptera): Columbicola adamsi (27,8 %) and Physconelloides wisemani (5,5 %); and one feather mite species (Acari, Falculiferidae): Falculifer lacertosus (22,2 %). The three reported parasites are new records for Chile and represented new host records.
