Abstract:

Four species of Gyropidae that occur on species of Ctenomyidae in the Buenos Aires Province were identified on the basis of the external chorionic architecture of the eggs: Gyropus parvus parvus (Ewing, 1924), Phtheiropoios rionegrensis Cicchino & Castro, 1994, Phtheiropoios forficulatus (Neumann, 1912) and Phtheiropoios gracilipes (Ewing, 1924). The genera Gyropus Nitzsch, 1818 and Phtheiropoios Eichler, 1940 are also tentatively characterized on the basis of eggs features.
