Abstract:

The occurrence of the chewing lice Laemobothrion glutinas and Cuculiphilus alternatus is reported for the first time in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The lice were obtained from a black vulture (Coragyps atratus), caught in an area adjacent to the Zoological Garden of Rio Grande do Sul, county of Sapucaia do Sul.
