Abstract:

Caprine endo- and ectoparasites were identified in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and its surrounding area. Data were collected from 23 necropsies and 10 rural properties. The most prevalent helminths in the necropsies were Haemochlls contortlls, Trichostrongylus colubriformis. Eleven species of Eimeria were diagnosed, Eimeria alijevi and Eimeria ninakohlyakimovae being the most common species. The ectoparasites Psoroptes caprae, Oestrus ovis, Damalinia caprae and Boophilus microplus were found in necropsies and examinations of the animals.
