Abstract:

Eight species of Malophaga Anaticola anseris (Linnaeus, 1758), Anaticola crassicornis (Scopoli, 1763), Anatoecus icterodes (Nitzch, 1818), Anatoecus dentatus (Scopoli, 1763), Anseriphilus pectiniventris (Harrison, 1916) Holomenopon leucoxanthum (Burmeister, 1838), Trinoton anserinum (Fabricius, 1805) y Trinoton querquedulae (Linnaeus, 1758), have been identified attached to seven species of Anatidae: Anas acuta Linnaeus, 1758, Anas clypeata Linnaeus, 1758, Anas crecca Linnaeus, 1758, Anas platyrrhynchos Linnaeus, 1758, Anas penelope Linnaeus, 1758, Anas strepera Linnaeus, 1758 y Anser anser (Linnaeus, 1758). Their taxonomic characteristics and some morphological aspects are described. Additionally, and despite the scarce number of specimens available at certain moments, some aspects of their biology related to the host-guest relationship are outlined.
