Description of three new species of sucking lice, together with a key to some related species of the genus Polyplax

Abstract:

The new species arc: Polyplax alaskensis, from a single male taken on a mouse (Microtus sp.) in Alaska; Linognathus panamensis, from females taken on a deer (Odocoileus chiriquensis) in Panama; and Phthirus gorillae, described from nymphs taken with eggs on Gorilla bcringerí in the eastern Belgian Congo. A key is given to the group of four species allied to Polyplax spimtlosa, Burm. including P. alaskensis.
