| Abstract: | English title: Medicinal products and medical devices for the control of head lice infestations Abstract: Infestation caused by the human head louse (Pediculus humanus capitis) is one of the most im- portant infestations of childhood, especially after the detection of head lice strains that are resistant to one or more of the insecticides used in recent decades. Medicinal products as well as medical devices are available on the market for the control of head lice infestations. The efficacy of the different products varies and is not proven for many medical devices. For the effectiveness of treatment, the correct use of each product accor- ding to the label claim and according to the common principles of head louse control are decisive. |
