Abstract: | Two species of chewing lice (Phthiraptera) were collected from seven Grey- headed Lapwings Vanellus cinereus (Blyth, 1842), caught in Jinshanyakou, Yunnan Province, China. They are Actornithophilus hoplopteri (Mjöberg, 1910a) and Quadra- ceps sinensis Timmermann, 1954a. Both species represent new records for China and V. cinereus represents a new host record for A. hoplopteri. As neither species has previously been adequately described, we here present illustrations and descriptions of both species, as well as short notes on the microhabitat of both species. |
