Identification chewing lice (Goniocotes gallinae) in Mealigris Gallopavo in some areas Thi-Qar governorate

Abstract
In the study that achieved in Thi- Qar governorate from March 2013 to July 2013 , where lice collected from 119 turkeys ( 53 males and 66 females) from popular markets for the sale of birds and some villages the ages of these turkeys were(5-24) months . The results show that the turkey infested with type of chewing lice called Goniocotes gallinae the total infection percent was 37.82% . The highest infection percent was 60% in April while the lowest was 30.43% in June with a significant difference (P < 0.05). The result show there was non significant difference between the tow genders as the infection percent in the males was 39.62% while that in females was 36.36%. in the age groups the infection percent was 50% in the age group (5-9) months while was 33.33% in the age group (10-24) months with no significant difference (P> 0.05).

اجريت الدراسة الحالية في محافظة ذي قار للمدة من اذار 2013 الى تموز 2013 حيث تم جمع القمل من 119 ديك رومي (53 ذكور و 66 اناث) من الاسواق المحليه لبيع الطيور وبعض القرى وبأعمار تراوحت بين 5 شهر الى 24 شهر. بينت النتائج اصابة الديك الرومي بنوع من القمل العاض Goniocotes gallinae وبنسبة اصابة كلية بلغت 37.82% وسجلت اعلى نسبة اصابة في شهر نيسان كانت 60% و اوطأ نسبة في شهر حزيران 30.43% وبفرق معنوي (P < 0.05) ، اظهرت نتائج الدراسة عدم وجود فروق معنوية بين الجنسين اذ كانت نسبة اصابة الذكور 39.62% والاناث 36.36%، اما الفئات العمرية فقد كانت نسبة الاصابة 50% في الفئة من (5-9) شهر و 33.33% في الفئة العمرية (10-24) شهر وعدم وجود فرق معنوي بمستوى (P > 0.05).
