Together with a scarcity in health research, these threat puts this iconic species at risk. In the present study, we performed the diagnosis of the Colpocephalum trichosumHarrison, 1916 louse of the Menoponidae family, Suborder Mallophaga of the Order Phthiraptera, of a free-living female condor individual who was found injured in the municipality of Palca and rehabilitated at the Vesty Pakos Municipal Zoo, prior to its subsequent release and reintroduction. This represents the first Bolivian record of parasites in the Andean condor. |
