Study on aviary bird infestation to external parasite in Urmia

This study was carried out to determine the external parasite infestation in Aviary Birds. Total number of 908 birds were subjected to this study they were consisted of pigeon (213), canary (430), Jovebird(171). Finch (78), parrot(5). Goldfinch (5). Ouzel ( 1) and partridge(5). The results indicated positive infestation of Columbicula columbae in 72 pigeon and Cnemidocoptes pilae infestation was observed in 40 canary, 1 finch and 2 goldfinch. Duringthis study samples were collected from 13 bird shop in which 6 of these shops were contaminated with Dermanyssus, 9 with Argas and 4 with PseudoLynchia
