Abstract

The  macroparasite  community  of  nestlings  and  juveniles  of Sula  variegata  is  described,  and  the predictability of the parasite community is determined. Twelve birds were collected from the Quirilluca Cliffs, Valparaíso. Parasitic intensity and prevalence were calculated, and predictability was analyzed with nesting metrics. Ectoparasite (Phthiraptera and Ixodida) and endoparasite (Nematoda, Platyhelminthes and Acanthocephala) species were found. The parasite community of S.  variegata was determined as predictable and typical of a piscivorous bird.
