Published Taxon Remarks:
Blagoveshtchensky (1965) originally placed this louse in the genus Neohaematopinus. However, Durden (1991a) suggested that it should correctly be placed in Linognathoides as defined by Kim and Adler (1982) and this action has been taken here. The host association, thoracic sternal plate, female subgenital plate, and other characters are typical of Linognathoides not Neohaematopinus as these two genera are currently interpreted (Kim and Adler, 1982).
