Although Polyplax serrata is typically found on species of Apodemus, Kristofik and Lysy (1992) also recorded it from a shrew (Crocidura leucodon) and the voles Clethrionomys glareolus and Microtus arvalis. [ex. Durden, L. A., Musser, G. G. 1994. Bulletin of the American Museum of Natural History 218: 1-90]. Originally described from Mus musculus In Eurpoe. Type depository is uncertain. [ex. Kim, K.
