| Abstract: | A key for the identification of the biting and sucking lice of Central European domesticated animals is presented (including the rabbit, the coypou and the guinea-pig). Taxonomic drawings are added (in some cases also for the different stages, including eggs). A very comprehensive part deals with the biology of the different genera and species (as far as it is known). The structure of the eggs is described as well as some up to now unpublished data could be taken into account too. Finally, all economic aspects of biting and sucking lice were analyzed and discussed. |
