Nature of Egg shell of three Lipeurus species infesting poultry birds

Eggs of three mallophagan species belonging to genus Lipeurus (Lipeurus lawrensis tropicalis, Lipeurus heterographus
and Lipeurus caponis) infesting poultry birds were subjected to SEM study, in order to investigate the role of egg morphology in
the identification of species. The eggs of three mallophagan species exhibited remarkable differences in the nature of chorionic
sculpturing, shape of operculum and the number of micropyles on opercular disc.
